HARRIS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WZMQ) – An adult male is dead following a shooting at a Harris Township residence on Thursday.
At approximately 12:19 a.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Iron Mountain Post responded to a reported shooting at a home on County Road 551. When troopers arrived, they found that a 34-year-old Wilson man had been shot. Troopers and EMS personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Officials say it was an isolated incident, and there is no danger to the public.
MSP was assisted by Hannahville Tribal Police, Menominee County Sheriff’s Office, and Rampart EMS.
