MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – UPDATE: Officials have found the body of a missing Marquette woman.

On Tuesday evening, Eileen Mandel’s pickup truck was located on a two-track road in Negaunee Township. The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office helped the Marquette Police Department search for Mandel in the surrounding area. While searching a wooded area, they found Mandel’s body at approximately 10:35 p.m.

No foul play is suspected.

ORIGINAL STORY:

The Marquette Police Department is asking for the public’s help to find a missing woman.

69-year-old Eileen Mandel has been missing from her Marquette home since Sunday at approximately 5:30 p.m. According to police, Mandel had made concerning statements to family in the past and may be in an altered mental state.

Mandel was last seen leaving her home in a white 2021 Dodge Ram pickup truck with a Michigan license plate, which reads, “DD70423.” The truck has a black tonneau cover, running boards, and chrome accents.

Based on the investigation thus far, Mandel may have been in the area of the Wal-Mart and Schwemwood Park on County Road 492 in Marquette Township on Sunday evening. She is about 5’4″ tall, weighs about 110 pounds, has hazel eyes and brown hair, and was last seen wearing a green sweater.

Currently, there is no known direction of travel or place of interest where Mandel was likely heading. Anyone with information about Mandel’s location is urged to call the Marquette Police Department at (906) 228-0400.
