ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Each day of the U.P. State Fair has a different theme. Wednesday’s theme was Senior Citizens Day.
Fairgoers ages 65 and older enjoyed $5 admission at the gate, a congregate meal, and a Wellness Fair. At the Wellness Fair, they received free resources and information from organizations like OSF Healthcare, UPHS Home Health & Hospice, LakeHouse Senior Living, and AARP.
The Wellness Fair was sponsored by the Menominee Delta Schoolcraft Community Action Agency. It also served as a celebration of the agency’s 60th anniversary.
“We focus on the wellness of our seniors, and we provide a lot of services in the community,” said Kristie Stenlund, Director of Senior Services for the Community Action Agency. “We’ve grown so much through the years, as far as what services we can provide the community, as well as just acknowledging all of our staff and what a wonderful job our staff do.”
