ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – A woman has been arrested after a stabbing in Escanaba.
At approximately 7:32 a.m. on Monday, August 11, Escanaba Public Safety was dispatched to a reported stabbing in progress at Fairview Estates at 1401 North 23rd Street. While they were heading to the scene, Central Dispatch advised that the suspect was leaving in a blue SUV.
Once officers arrived at the scene, they encountered the victim at a neighbor’s residence. The victim had suffered numerous stab wounds and was immediately transported to OSF by Rampart EMS for treatment. Central Dispatch then reported that the suspect had arrived at Public Safety to turn herself in. She was questioned and later transported to OSF for treatment.
The victim is in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect is currently in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
