Youngs Menswear expands to Marquette with grand opening celebration

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Youngs Menswear, a longtime Escanaba-based business specializing in men’s formalwear, celebrated the grand opening of its new Marquette location Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Lake Superior Community Partnership and Accelerate UP.

The new storefront, located at 2112 US-41, officially opened its doors to the public with a full day of grand opening festivities. The expansion marks a major milestone for the 30-year-old menswear retailer, which offers both purchase and rental options for suits, tuxedos, and other formal attire, along with in-house tailoring services.

Since soft-launching the Marquette location by appointment three months ago, owner Tyler Myrick said the response has been overwhelming.

“It’s been perfect,” Myrick said. “We’re right here on the highway, right next to the old Villa Capri. The response from the community has been awesome. Literally the first day I posted that we were going to be up here by appointment only, I sold a few suits and registered a couple weddings already. So there is definitely a need for us up here.”

Youngs Menswear is the only tuxedo and suit rental warehouse in the Upper Peninsula, with over 1,000 suits and tuxedos in stock—ready to accommodate everything from last-minute events to large wedding parties.

Myrick officially took over the business in July 2024 and has been leading its expansion under the refreshed brand. He said bringing Youngs Menswear to Marquette was a natural next step.

“Expanding here felt like the natural next step,” he said. “And we’re excited to provide our services to even more customers across the U.P.”

The new Marquette store is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday and Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Appointments are available outside normal operating hours.
