MANISTIQUE, Mich. (WZMQ) – After rainy weather conditions delayed several Upper Peninsula Independence Day firework displays, one city is postponing its display for a second time.
According to Manistique Public Safety, Great Lakes Fireworks had weather concerns for the rescheduled fireworks date of Saturday, July 12. Great Lakes Fireworks advised the Manistique Fourth of July Committee and the City of Manistique Lakes Fireworks to reschedule once again.
The City and the Fourth of July Committee do not intend to cancel fireworks entirely. Rather, both organizations hope to pick an alternate date that would coincide with a large public gathering. Officials will announce the new date as soon as it is determined.
