NEGAUNEE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Negaunee’s Pioneer days are more than softball games and class reunions. It also has a literary component.
The Negaunee Public Library hosted 7 local authors today for a meet and greet and book signing.
Each year, the library invites local authors to come and sell their books, meet the public, and answer questions about their writing.
Authors included poet Kathleen Heideman, local historian Tyler Tichelaar, writer Michael Peach, children’s authors Lisa Dorvinen and Terri Martin, plus fantasy writer R. Aveen, and mystery writer Adam Dompierre.
“It’s tough to kind of stand out in the digital marketplace where there’s millions and millions of books, but this is a much more personal connection where they can come talk to us see the covers, read the back you know kind of get that personal interaction between author and reader which is very cool,” said local author, Adam Dompierre
The goal of the event is to draw attention to the talented writers who live and write in the area. The library also has its annual book sale on Thursday
