GWINN, Mich. – The Up North Lodge is throwing a party with a purpose this Sunday, June 22, as part of its weekly “Party on the Patio” summer series—this time benefiting the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter (UPAWS).
Festivities begin at 3 p.m. at the Gwinn restaurant and continue through the evening, with live music from local band “Lost Cause” scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. Guests can enjoy food and drinks at the outdoor bar, along with basket raffles and a 50/50 drawing.
The event is sponsored by the UPAWS Fundraising Committee and Select Realty. All proceeds will go directly to UPAWS to support its mission of caring for homeless animals across the region.
“To be in Gwinn and to be invited to go is a pretty big deal, so we’re pretty excited,” said UPAWS Shelter Manager Sarah Evers. “We’re a nonprofit, so 100% of our donations come from fundraising events like these. It’s just another way for us to generate revenue for the shelter.”
UP North Lodge will continue to hold “Party on the Patio” events for non-profits throughout the summer.
