NEWBERRY, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing about $1.8 million to resurface more than 10 miles of M-149 from north of US-2 to the Palms Book State Park entrance in Schoolcraft County.
Work includes asphalt overlay, select cold milling, aggregate shoulders, guardrail repair and adjustment, rumble strips, and pavement markings. This project includes a three-year materials and workmanship pavement warranty.
Motorists should anticipate intermittent daytime lane closures on M-149. One lane of traffic will be open at all times. A 10-foot lane width restriction and a work zone speed limit of 45 mph will be in effect.
The project is expected to begin on June 16 and end on August 27.
