Calumet Theatre celebrates 125 years and unveils new chandelier

CALUMET, Mich. (WZMQ) – In May the Calumet Theatre celebrated its 125th anniversary and later this month the theatre will be holding a banquet to unveil their new chandelier that has been nearly two years in the making. The Calumet Theatre Board President Daniel Jamison said they started the chandelier project because there was a chandelier when the building was originally built, but the chandelier is also a symbol of how far they’ve come.

“The chandelier represents the chandelier but it also represents shedding light on other projects that we want to do to the theatre, and for the theatre, and for the village,” said Jamison. “People are starting to come back and take ownership and the chandelier is just a big shiny way to do that.”

The chandelier banquet will be on June 28 at 4:30 p.m. Admission is $60 and includes a social hour dinner, dessert, and the unveiling. For more information about the Calumet Theatre, chandelier, or chandelier banquet check out the Calumet Theatre Website.
