IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Oscar G Johnson VA Medical Center announced their new “Hall of Heroes” program earlier this month and are now accepting nominations for potential veteran honorees. The hall of heroes is meant to honor veterans both living and deceased who have shown exemplary courage in the line of duty, or made significant impact on their local community.
The medical center’s Veteran Experience Officer Pamela Dubrow, who have the idea for the program, said honoring their veterans is an important part of the care they offer.
“The Hall of Heroes program is close to my heart, it honors the courage and service of our veterans during their military service and at home in their community, and this is what inspires us at Oscar G. Johnson and the care we give our veterans.”
Nominees will be considered throughout the year and inducted annually around Veterans Day. Nominees must be a veteran and have received or currently be receiving care from the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center. To nominate someone fill out a nomination form and mail it to the Veteran Experience Officer, 325 East H Street, Iron Mountain, MI 49801.
