CALUMET, Mich. (WZMQ) – From the Ground Farmers Market Collective in the Keweenaw has announced its summer market dates for Calumet, Hancock, and Houghton. The Markets will include produce and goods from local farmers and vendors, and feature local musicians. Customers at the markets will also be able to use local, state, and federal food assistance programs to help them purchase local produce.
“A lot of folks in the community depend on to get by and because the area is so remote we want to ensure that people have access to these programs,” said From the Ground Market Manager Gabriela Solorzano. “And that we in turn also support the local economy in our region and so we’re helping our farmers by having local food at the table.”
