Dancing with our stars took to the Forest Roberts Theatre stage Thursday for their 10th annual charity benefit.

Stacy and Jared Haughey dazzle the crowd

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The 10th edition of Dancing with our Stars held its finale this evening at the Forest Roberts Theatre in Marquette.

Thursday was the second and final night of competition for the event, with all proceeds going to the Up Hospice Foundation.

Awards were given to Julie and Ty Hartung, voted most congenial, and Stacy and Jared Haughey, who reached 10,000 votes first. Tonight will see awards given to the fan favorite couple as well as the Mirrorball Award given to the couple that raises the most money over the past 2 nights.

8 couples have been training since January with a dance professional to design and perform a routine in keeping with this year’s theme. Event coordinator Lindsey Hemmila says spreading the competition over 2 nights allows them to create more awareness about the work done by the Up Hospice Foundation.

“Number one, it gives more people the opportunity to watch the show to learn a little bit about hospice, and the organization, but for the dancers, it’s a chance to showcase their skills, everything that they’ve learned over the last four months,” explained Hemmila.
