LAKE LINDEN, Mich. (WZMQ) – The superintendent of Lake Linden-Hubbell Middle and High School is resigning from his position.

On Friday, the Lake Linden-Hubbell Public Schools Board of Education released a statement accepting Superintendent Brad Codere’s resignation, which is effective on June 30.

“Earlier this school year, a concern was brought forth regarding Mr. Codere,” the statement reads. “While the concern was significant, it was not criminal in nature. In light of Mr. Codere’s decision to resign and retire, no further investigation or review of the underlying concern is warranted.”

“The Board and Mr. Codere have reached an amicable resolution to finalize the school year with as little disruption as possible,” the board continues. “Mr. Codere will continue in his role as superintendent, with duties performed remotely, through June 30. Assistant Principal Lisa Ruhman will provide additional in-person leadership for the remainder of the school year.”

The statement concludes, “We have complete confidence in the current building leadership, as they are doing an outstanding job as we approach the end of the school year. The Board will soon begin the process of finding the next superintendent and middle/high school principal for Lake-Linden Hubbell.”

WZMQ 19 News has been working to obtain more information on this developing story. WZMQ 19 has reached out to officials at Lake-Linden Hubbell schools for comment today, and we were directed to the statement they released on Friday. No further information was given at this time.
