ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Monday, Holy Name Catholic School welcomed the spring season with a day of music, as well as with some help from a Michigan legislator.
Students in first grade through twelfth grade performed at the school’s annual Spring Music Festival. They sang songs of faith like “Amazing Grace,” as well as songs that fit the spring theme, like “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” and “What a Wonderful World.”
State Senator Ed McBroom accompanied students on piano throughout the event. Principal Nathan Vande Hey played guitar on a few songs while classes performed with their own instruments, including handbells, tambourines, recorders, and ukuleles.
