ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – An Ishpeming man has been arrested for Child Sexually Abusive Activity and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime.
A Michigan State Police Negaunee Post and MSP Computer Crimes Unit launched an investigation into 24-year-old Zachary Erik Weisman when it was alleged that he had numerous explicit images of underage children. A subsequent search of his residence resulted in digital evidence being seized, leading to his arrest.
Weisman was charged with fifteen counts of Child Sexually Abusive Activity and fifteen counts of Using a Computer to Commit a Crime. If convicted, Weisman faces up to 20 years in prison for Child Sexually Abusive Activity and 20 years in prison for Using a Computer to Commit a Crime.
Weisman was arraigned in the 96th District Court on April 28, and his bond was set at $30,000. He is scheduled to be in court again on May 08, 2025.
