CHATHAM, Mich. (WZMQ) – Janine Pollock and the Fl8risk Siberians are ready for Friday’s Midnight Run.
Janine Pollock, musher of the Fl8risk Siberians, spent the previous days preparing for Friday’s Midnight Run. Many members of the team are family. The team started with Bleu, who is now a coach and father.
Chloe is the mother of three members of the team, Sugar, Summit, and Tin-Man, all of who joined Pollock in many of the other races she ran including the Copper Dog 150. Pollock keeps a close eye on each member of the team as they make their preparations.
“Chloe is almost ten, and after assessing her this season it will probably be her last. She will probably retire and she is perfectly happy to be a house dog.”
New to the team are Deebz and Edna, who sport brown eyes and more slender bodies than their teammates. They are what Janine calls a sprinter-type Siberian Husky. Even though the two are the newest to the team, and not related by blood, they are still very much a part of the family.
“They squabble like siblings do, like families do, especially two little girls, but at the end of the day, we’re just one big pack.”
