DELTA COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – A man is in jail and charges are pending for a woman after a police chase through Delta county last week.
On Friday, Jan. 31 around 4 p.m., Delta County sheriff’s deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on LL Road in Nahma Township. The driver, Brandon Dickerson, was wanted on several warrants. Dickerson did not stop, and a pursuit began.
Deputies attempted to stop Dickerson’s vehicle with stop sticks but were unsuccessful. The chase continued down US-2 and north onto Z Road for about ten miles.
The vehicle eventually came to a stop, and a female passenger and her 5-year-old daughter exited the vehicle. Dickerson was found a short time later hiding in the woods by an MSP K9 with assistance from an MSP drone.
Dickerson was taken into custody on multiple charges and remains in the Delta County Jail. Criminal charges are being sought for the woman, and her daughter has been removed from her custody.
Deputies were assisted by the Michigan State Police, Alger County Sheriff’s Office, US Forest Service LE, and Child Protective Services.
