ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Hema-Tykes Childcare and Education center is holding a Valentines Day dance for children ages 5-12 on February 13.
The dance is open to children and families from the community and will include pizza, cookie decorating, a DJ, face painting, and ice cream.
Hema-Tykes Director Maryann Hodnik said they’ve had great success with their summer dances, and wanted something for families to do during the winter. “We’ve had such great results with just having our one in the summer time and everyone’s like, you know, the winter gets kind of blah,” said Hodnik. “It would be nice to have something for families to go out and do together so I think it’s just something fun and my staff loves doing these so we’re excited about it.”
The dance will begin at 6 p.m. and wrap up at 7:30 p.m. so the little ones can get to bed on time.
