ISHPEMING, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Hema-Tykes Childcare and Education Center in Ishpeming is holding its summer camp for children ages 5-12 from June 9 through August 22.
The summer camp will feature day trips to locations around Ishpeming and furthering education.
Hema-Tykes is also partnered with Ishpeming Public Schools to prepare children for high school.
Hema-Tykes Director Mary Ann Hodnik said they offer a lot more than just a normal daycare, “They go to all the different parks in the area, they’ll also go to the high school and do some art at the high school with an art teacher there,” said Hodnik, “We have some music that will come in and do some music with the children, we have a music professor from NMU. So we’re just really excited about some things that we get to offer them.”
