GLADSTONE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Delta County man faces multiple felony drug charges after a traffic stop.
On Jan. 8 around 5:40 p.m., a Michigan State Police trooper observed a vehicle traveling 3rd Ave N. near N. 30th St. in Escanaba and noticed a vehicle violation. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of the passenger, 27-year-old Jeffrey Schultz of Rock, for possession of methamphetamine and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
During the booking process at the Delta County Jail, troopers discovered Schultz had additional illegal drugs concealed with him. He was additionally charged with smuggling contraband into jail, which is a felony.
Schultz was arraigned on Jan. 9 in 94th District Court. His bond was set at $7,500. He’s due back in court Jan. 30.
