ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Students at an Escanaba Catholic School are inviting the community to see their latest theatrical production.
This weekend, Holy Name High School – A Chesterton Academy will present This Murder Was Staged, written by Patrick Greene and Jason Pizzarello.
The fast-paced mystery and comedy is a play within a play. When an actor playing a detective discovers a real dead body, the cast has to figure out who the killer is.
Holy Name’s cast is made up of sophomores, juniors, and seniors. One student says he and his fellow cast members can’t wait to share what they have been working on with audiences.
“Ever since the beginning of the school year, we’ve been practicing and running over our lines and doing exercises to get in the spirit of acting,” said Patton Nyquist, who portrays the director of the play in the show. “It’s entertaining, and it’s a good experience to see us and all the work we put into it.”
Performances of This Murder Was Staged will take place in the Holy Name multi-purpose room, located at 409 South 22nd Street. The show is free to the public, but free will donations will be accepted. The show begins Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m.
