MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Now that the holidays are coming to an end, Marquette Public Works is helping clean up Christmas trees.
Two Christmas tree drop-off zones are available for Marquette residents once they have been taken down, one in the Marquette YMCA parking lot and the other in the parking lot of the Beaver Grove Area Park.
Only natural trees can be left and all Christmas decorations must be removed beforehand, “We do ask that all the trees be stripped down of any tinsel, lights, or ornaments that type of thing,” said Marquette Director of Public Works Scott Cambensy. “Because once collected theses trees will all be hauled out to the composting operation at the county landfill.”
The sites will be available for drop off through January 9th.
