LAC LA BELLE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The gem of the Keweenaw Peninsula is once again getting national attention. The Mount Bohemia Ski Resort placed #2 on USA Today’s 10Best Ski Resorts in North America.
Mount Bohemia placed among other popular ski resorts across, including Steamboat Resort in Steamboat Springs, Colorado (#4); Banff Sunshine Village in Banff, Alberta (#3); and bested only by Snowbasin Resort in Huntsville, Utah (#1).
USA Today’s 10Best consults a panel of experts to nominate their top picks, and the winners are voted on by readers.
“Mount Bohemia in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula averages 273 inches of light, fluffy snow each season, and offers the longest runs and most vertical drop of any ski area in the Midwest, with a 900-foot vertical drop. Mount Bohemia boasts 620 skiable acres and 111 runs, the longest of which, Ghost Trail, spanning nearly two miles– the longest ski run in Michigan.
