ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Saturday, October 26, the Michigan DNR is hosting a Halloween party at the Escanaba Pocket Park.
Guests can enjoy a haunted house, trick-or-treating, a costume contest, games, a bonfire, music, and other activities throughout the day. It’s also a chance to visit the pellet and archery ranges, the fishing pond, and everything else the park has to offer on its final day open for the year.
Park Interpreter Jalen Sims says staff members are excited to celebrate a fun holiday and bring the community together one last time before winter arrives.
“We think it would be awesome to have a bunch of people running around in costumes here at the park and go out with one final bang,” said Sims. “Thank you to everyone that’s been coming to the Pocket Park over the summer. We’ve been blessed to have you, and we’re looking forward to a great next season.”
The Pocket Park Halloween party runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the costume contest will begin at 4:00.
The DNR Pocket Park is located just inside the main entrance of the U.P. State Fairgrounds. For more information on the Halloween party, click here.
