WASHINGTON, D.C.- New polling from the New York Times and Siena College shows former President Donald Trump has the edge over Vice President Kamala Harris in a couple of key Sun Belt states, but t if the results of the elections were to match the polls, Harris would win the White House.
In the latest polling, it shows battleground states like Arizona and Georgia favor the former President. Trump lost both of those states to Biden in 2020. There’s been a shift from voters in Arizona. Back in August, the previous polls from the Times/ Siena College showed Harris leading by five percentage points. The Times reports Latino voters appear to have moved away from Harris and now stating they’re undecided. That shift is benefiting Trump in Arizona.
In North Carolina, another battleground state which has not favored the Democrats since Barack Obama’s victory in 2008, shows Harris is narrowly trailing behind Trump there.
However in a example scenario, the polls show even if Trump were to win North Carolina, Arizona and Georgia, he still would fall short to Harris by a couple of electoral college votes.
In other key battleground states like Michigan and Pennsylvania, Harris does have the slight edge over Trump. Nationally, the polling from shows Harris has the lead over Trump by three points.
