SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (WZMQ) – A Lower Michigan man with a warrant out for his arrest was caught by police in Sault Ste. Marie after someone reported him urinating in the road.
On Thursday, Aug. 29 around 8:43 p.m., the Sault Ste. Marie Police Department investigated a report of a man urinating in the roadway. The man was described as a black male wearing gray sweatpants and a hooded sweatshirt on Bermuda Ave. in the Shallows-Lakeshore subdivision. Police learned he had a felony warrant out for his arrest from a Lower Michigan jurisdiction.
Police spotted the man at a home on Bermuda Ave. sitting by a firepit. He left the firepit and walked into nearby woods.
Officers from the Sault PD, U.S. Border Patrol, and an MSP K-9 Unit search for the man in the woods. He was found and taken into custody without incident. He was lodged in the Chippewa County Jail.
