UPPER PENINSULA, Mich. – The Michigan Department of State, along with state and community partners, will hold a series of Road to Restoration clinics in the Upper Peninsula in July and August to help guide eligible drivers on the path to restoring their driving privileges.
Volunteer attorneys will meet one-on-one with attendees to check their current license status, answer questions on how they can safely return behind the wheel and provide services like vision testing and the written driver’s exam. Participants are also encouraged to attend an informational session on the administrative hearings process while at a clinic.
Residents are encouraged to register ahead of time for a clinic and can find more information at Michigan.gov/R2R. Participants are asked to bring payment for their driving record ($16) or print one out the day before the clinic and bring it with them. If participants are eligible to have their license restored at the clinic, they will need the appropriate documents on hand: ID, birth certificate, proofs of residency.
