MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The 44th annual Hiawatha Music Festival hosted by the Hiawatha Music Co-Op is open for campers to set up shop. This Friday at Tourist Park in Marquette, tents and campers popped up with eager guests.
The festival’s music does not start till 7 tonight, however that did not stop vendors, food trucks, and guests from getting ready for tonight. Music by artists like Melissa Carper, Lone Pinion, and the Tuvergen band covers a wide range of traditional music. There are 2 stages set up and beach jams open to all, plus workshops for yoga, singing, ariel, and multiple dance styles are happening throughout the day.
“It’s great to be a part of something where your hard work over the course of a year results in singing and playing music and dancing and having fun and lots of smiling people,” Heidi Stevenson, Hiawatha Music Festival Music Committee volunteer.
This festival will go on until the night of Sunday, July 21st. Sales for the campsites and wristbands are closed, however ticket sales are still available at the festival gate by Jacobetti Complex.
