MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Chicago Beefs held its soft opening in Marquette’s Masonic Square Mall on Saturday.
The restaurant specializes in Chicago style Italian beef and sausage sandwiches.
Owner Mike Glenn said so far the turnout is great and they’ve seen plenty of customers, and even though the Houghton location is now closed, he’s excited to bring an authentic Chicago experience to Marquette.
“I did my best to try to recreate what it feels like to be in a Chicago beef joint,” said Glenn. “Complete with being recognized by the owner when you’re a regular and having him buy you a sandwich once in a while.”
Chicago Beefs is open Sunday from 12 p.m. – 7p.m., Monday – Thursday from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. – 3 a.m.
Glenn said the grand opening is planned for sometime in the next two weeks.
