ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – On Tuesday, Bay College’s summer concert series returned to the Escanaba campus.

Lunchtime Live! takes place in the courtyard on select Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Attendees can enjoy free music from a diverse lineup of artists and purchase food from The Taco Kitchen Food Truck, operated by Wiles Food Services.

Bay kicked the series off with local band Pickstop. Pickstop members say Lunchtime Live! is a great opportunity to reach a new audience.

“We’re at Bay; a lot of people go to Bay,” said Brayden Mathias. “Just having the opportunity to play for them, especially when I’ll be going here next year, I think that’s the biggest part is the exposure.”

“I think it’s really cool just to have young people playing music around here,” Cameron Lee said. “I’ve been seeing a lot of that lately, and it’s really cool to have all this music going on in the community.”

Upcoming Lunchtime Live! performances:

Tuesday, July 23 – Wingin In (This performance will not feature The Taco Kitchen Food Truck. A replacement will be announced.)

Tuesday, August 6 – Reflections

Tuesday, August 20 – Meg Rae

Tuesday, August 27 – Singe

The Bay College courtyard is located between the Catherine Bonifas Building (CB 200) and the Student Services Building (SC 500), just off of Parking Lot E, where The Taco Kitchen Food Truck is stationed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on most Tuesdays. In cases of inclement weather, performances will be moved inside to Café Bay.

To learn more about Pickstop or to book them for a show, follow the band on Facebook or Instagram.
