Marquette’s Peter White Public Library is one of just 62 libraries around the nation to be selected for a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for The Big Read.
PWPL’s communications coordinator Andrea Marsh says the library received about $16k to help fund resources and programs at the library. The Big Read, she says, is all about bringing people together to have a conversation about something that may not always be easy to talk about. The library has selected Roz Chast’s “Can’t we talk about something more PLEASANT?” which walks readers through how to have hard conversations with ageing parents about the next stage of life.
