MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Marquette Regional History Center hosted a senior support series class geared toward helping seniors through various topics like healthy eating, eliminating food waste and the benefits of shopping local.
The class was held in collaboration with the Marquette Food co-op who brought their dietitian to go through things like healthy eating, nutrition labels, and how to properly store food.
“I work with seniors all over the U.P. and if you’re a little bit older you may trip and fall and you can’t eat as well,” said Kevin Dorr, event organizer. ” I thought what can I do.”
This senior series is the second in a four part class series addressing different issues that affect the elderly population.
The next class is set to be June 27th.
