ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – May 13 – 14, Bay College hosted the 2024 Upper Peninsula Teaching and Learning Conference.
Approximately 160 educators came to Escanaba for the conference, representing colleges and universities throughout Michigan and Wisconsin. They attended sessions on topics like online learning, new teaching techniques, and how artificial intelligence is impacting students and teachers.
Attendees also had the opportunity to discuss their experiences and ideas with each other.
“Inviting people from all over to see what Bay has to offer is really important to us because, truly, the spirit of education is sharing,” said Bay College Executive Director for Online Learning Joseph Mold. “That’s what this conference is all about, sharing our techniques with each other so that we can meet today’s learners.”
According to Mold, the Upper Peninsula Teaching and Learning Conference is typically held at a four-year institution, making Bay College the first community college to host the event.
