MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – This past Saturday at the Marquette Township Fire Rescue, an organization was offering car seat checks. U.P. Family Doula Care was providing free car seat check and installations.
The U.P. Family Doula Care is an organization that helps families with young children is anyway they may need help. They have hosted a couple of these events in the past but are recently trying to get more activity happening. On top of the checks and installations, if a family is on government support they are offered a free car seat if they need it.
This organization is all about the safety of the children, which members say is why they have events like this.
“Having your car seat installed correctly and having your child fit to your car seat greatly decreases injuries in case of an accident. We are passionate about child safety and making sure the kids in our community are safe in cars,” said Sarah Hoper, certified child safety technician.
