MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Saturday morning at the Marquette Commons, the Marquette Farmers Market opened its new membership program to the public.
This membership is only available to the first 100 people to show up and donate a minimum of $100. Each member will get a special pin signifying their membership status. The membership provides perks and rewards, like early access and discounts on farmers market merchandise.
“They will also be available at the information booth during the market season. If we have any leftover, you can still come and jump in and get those memberships,” said Brian Shier, the market manager.
The money from memberships will go back toward improving the farmers market and supporting vendors. Shier says the plan is to add picnic tables and benches for shoppers, as well as enhance the ways vendors promote themselves.
The Marquette Farmer’s Market officially opens for the summer season on Saturday, May 18. For more information on vendors and farmers market, go to their website.
