The Women’s Center in Marquette is highlighting Sexual Assault Awareness Month and the services the center provides. It’s also hosting a few events throughout the remainder of the month.
On Saturday, April 20, Northern Michigan University’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) will host its annual Coffee Crawl through Marquette with proceeds going to the Women’s Center.
On Sunday, April 21, all are invited to a Yoga Time at 11 a.m. for Trauma Informed Yin Yoga. Mimosas will be available for purchase of $7 with $2 from each drink purchase going toward host Holly Meraki’s charity. Cal 906-273-2259 to reserve a spot.
National Denim Day is Wednesday, April 24. The Women’s Center is also encouraging people to host their own Denim Fridays throughout the month to raise awareness of sexual assault.
On Saturday, April 30, the Women’s Center will host a community open house from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at its Ishpeming location in the Gossard Building (308 Cleveland Ave., Ste 208). People are welcome to stop by at any time to meet staff and learn about the services provided by the Women’s Center.
