MANISTIQUE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Next week, students in Manistique will explore potential job opportunities to pursue after graduation.
On Tuesday, April 23, Manistique High School will host a career fair. Local organizations like Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital, UP Paper, SineTech, and Aldridge Electric will be on site to talk with students. There will also be recruiters for the Air Force and the Army.
Joe Barr, a college advisor through the Michigan College Access Network and Delta Schoolcraft ISD, the career fair will be a great way for students to learn about career pathways in healthcare, engineering, and other fields available in their own backyard.
“So many students do not know what opportunities are available to them, especially in their hometown,” Barr said. “Those local opportunities are not always so clear, so any opportunity that we can get to bridge the gap between student and employer is a worthwhile endeavor.”
The career fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the gymnasium.
