MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Ore Dock Brewing Company, Festival of The Angry Bear is back for another year of drinks, music and fun.

The fest has been around for many years but each year Ore Dock finds a way to make it a little different. Some new things you might find this year include the draft beer selection, some activities they are doing and the bands playing throughout the weekend.

‘I’m just excited to see all the people come out and enjoy all the beers, some of them have been aging for three years,” Amanda Courchaine Curated events coordinator at Ore Dock Brewing Company. “It’s gonna be really exciting to see how people enjoy those.”

Angry Bear is free to anyone, but to get a drink you must purchase a drink token. Tokens can be purchased before the festival start in the taproom but don’t worry if you didn’t get yours, they will also be for sale during the festival at the token booth, the merch booth and at the upstairs bar.

Drinks including Super Dank, Hatchetman’s last ride, Famous Miss Peaches, Electric Jelly, Redeye Robusta, Reclamation, Low Hanging Fruit and Bums Beach are all two drink tokens while drinks including Kingdom Come, Force Majeure, The Big Woof, Angry Bear #11, Pizuzu and Beast of Burden will all be three tokens.

Games and competitions will be accompanying the drinks at Angry bear. The growler flex, a fan favorite from last fest is back and the all new Big Bowl, a keg bowling challenge will be there to give the festival goers another dash of fun.

Live concert music will be filling the festival air throughout the week. Chirp will kick it off Friday, then the rest of the nights will be filled with sounds from Joe Hertler and the Rainbow seekers, stone Foot, Bootstrap Boys, and Stonefolk. WhoDat Brass & The March of The angry bear will lead off Sunday, then in the evening an after party with Frank an Da Beanz will end the weekend.

All these activities will be mixed with a haul of local food trucks. The Drippy Hippie, Día De Los Tacos, All Rolled Up, Burger Bus, The Island, Disco Dogs, Smelted and Dah Pretzel Guys will all be there serving up some needed snacks.

“We have a slue of food trucks here and most of them are making their season debut.” said Courchaine. “It’s a really great opportunity to get some good food.”

The festival begins Satuday, April 12th at 3:00p.m. and will wrap-up at 12p.m. on Sunday.

To get into the festival you must be at least 21 years old. Children, even if accompanied by an adult are not permitted inside the festival.
