MENOMINEE COUNTY, Mich. (WZMQ) – Thousands in Menominee county are still without power following the blizzard earlier this week.
State Representative Dave Prestin who lives in Menominee County at one point during the storm, every Alger-Delta Cooperative Electric Association customer was without power.
Prestin, who has previously served on the Alger-Delta CO-OP Board, says the company has been working around the clock to restore service.
He says some areas of the county have seen more significant infrastructure damage than others.
“At the end of the day it’s going to be a total rebuild of the three phase line on [Wisconsin Public Service] side of [Menominee County Highway] G12 because I think there are more poles laying down then there are standing,” remarked Rep. Dave Prestin, (R) 108th State House District.
Prestin says the CO-OP hopes to have everyone’s lights back on by the end of today, but he is looking into why the storm affected so many residents in the county.
