MARQUETTE, Mich, (WZMQ) – United Way of Marquette County and the Detroit Red Wings Alumni Association are teaming up to bring the alumni team to the Berry Events Center this September.
The United Way is currently looking for local talent to play against the former Red Wings players, and help support Marquette County.
The United Way of Marquette County’s Executive Director Andrew Rickauer said the game is one of their biggest fundraisers.
“All the money is going to stay locally to help residents of Marquette County,” said Rickauer. “We work with 26 agencies, nonprofits, lot of basic needs, food insecurity, housing, senior programs, so all the funds are going to go right back to help those programs and the people involved with it.”
Anyone 18 and older is invited to apply for the Marquette team, applications will be open until March 26th.
