MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – Restaurant Week has foodies flocking to Marquette’s downtown to enjoy special deals and discounts from the establishments that make the food culture in the UP what it is today. This business is taking on Restaurant Week for the first time.
Four Swords Retropub is a Ramen bar that calls the Masonic Mall home. Owners are aiming to bring old classic games and some new additions to the menu, with Asteroids and Street Fighter to Dance Dance Revolution and Mario Kart.
“Take a little of something like that I grew up with and a lot of other people grew up with to just bring that back and have a place to play some video games and eat some snacks is my goal,” commented Owner Anthony Lewis.
For the week-long event, the Arcade bar serves 5 potstickers, a bowl of ramen with pork belly, soft-boiled eggs, and fresh noodles, all for $20. They also offer a Cheese Ramn with Octopus Hot Dogs for just $9.
“If you’re staying to hang out you get an hour of game time, get it to go, get it for here come play some games, and hang out,” continued Lewis.
Combining a gaming atmosphere and Japanese cuisine, owners commented that the Ramen is certainly more than just a dollar bowl. “It’s a whole different experience if you’re thinking oh I’m just going to get a cup of noodles at this arcade, the texture in your mouth is different the flavor is different it’s so much more fulfilling,” said Lewis.
Lewis said that even though it’s their first year of Restaurant Week, the opportunity to get their name out there on a “Superbowl kind of week” for restaurants, is something they couldn’t pass up. “It feels like you know you’re kind of putting yourself out on the field right now and I rushed at the opportunity to be apart of it,” continued Lewis.
