Northern Lights YMCA to host annual fundraising party on March 1

ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – Escanaba’s Northern Lights YMCA is gearing up for one of its biggest events of the year.

The YMCA’s annual fundraising party will take place on Friday, March 1, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Island Resort & Casino in Harris. With this year’s theme of “Dining by Fireflies,” the event will feature dinner, beer and wine tastings, games, raffles, and a silent auction.

Tickets are available for $50 each, with special pricing for a table of eight people. The proceeds will go toward the YMCA’s Annual Campaign, which ensures Delta County residents can continue to benefit from the Y’s resources and programs.

“It allows us to be able to go out in the community and actually tackle some of the critical needs in the community,” said YMCA Associate Executive Director Caron Salo. “It is important for us to provide healthy out-of-school time, safe childcare, teach kids how to swim, give them the opportunity to have friendships built in sports and recreation, family time to come together as a unit. We are incredibly grateful by those who support our efforts and our mission to make that happen.”

Registration for the “Dining by Fireflies” fundraising party closes at the end of February, and tickets are going fast. Visit the Northern Lights YMCA at 2000 North 30th Street, call (906) 789-0005, or click here to secure tickets.
