MARQUETTE Mich. (WZMQ) – After making his way all over Marquette, Lieutenant Governor made his way to Northern Michigan’s campus for one more speech.
After an introduction from NMU president Brock Tessman, Lieutenant Governor Gilchrist spoke on the free lunch program, free pre-k, and providing the first 2 years of college for Michigan residents.
“Make it in Michigan means seeing a future for yourself and your family here in the state of Michigan,” said Lieutenant Governor Gilchrist. “No matter the career you want to pursue no matter what educational opportunity makes sense for you we want there to be a path for it here in Michigan.”
After visiting with the NMU, Gilchrist made it clear that keeping people in Michigan by providing education and jobs is something that is on the radar.
