ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – This weekend, hunters and outdoorsmen have a chance to leave the house and get together in Escanaba.

The Marble Plus Knife Club will host its annual Cabin Fever Gun & Knife Show on Friday, January 26, and Saturday, January 27, at the Delta County Chamber of Commerce. In addition to knives and guns, the show will feature more than 60 tables of antique fishing lures, wood and metalworking, trapping equipment and furs, and more.

“We call it the “Cabin Fever” show because if you live in the U.P., you know what cabin fever is,” said Marble Plus Knife Club President Dennis Moberg. “The winter doldrums get to you a little bit, the lack of sunlight or companionship, so we come out for a great time more than anything else.

Admission is $5, and the proceeds will go toward the Marble Plus Knife Club’s charitable efforts.

“The Marble Plus Knife Club has raised over $50,000, and we give it all back to charity,” Moberg said. “We have sponsored Bay Cliff Health Camp, the Delta County Cancer Alliance, the Salvation Army, Tri-County Safe Harbor, so we give all the money back to the community.”

The Cabin Fever Gun & Knife Show runs from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Webster Marble: Inventing the Outdoors Museum and the U.P. Military Museum will be open during the event. The Chamber of Commerce is located at 1001 North Lincoln Rd.

In accordance with federal and local gun laws, all firearms will be checked and zip-tied at the door.
