Tonight on What’s UP with Megan, we are launching into winter action by attending the country’s longest consecutive ski jumping tournament!
The Ishpeming Ski Club will host the 137th Annual Ski Jumping Tournament at the UP Nordic Ski Complex on January 19th and 20th.
Friday’s tournament is a U.S. Cup event on the 90-meter hill and just one stop on the Four Hills Tournament circuit.
Saturday will be the return of the Paul Bietila Memorial Tournament, where ski jumpers from all over the U.S. will test their abilities to fly as far as possible on the 90-meter hill. Saturday’s tournament is also a Junior National Qualifier on the 60-meter hill for the Junior National Championships in Alaska.
And, if you want even MORE skiing, there will also be a cross-country ski race on the Ishpeming Ski Club Trail System during the weekend competition.
