MARQUETTE, Mich, (WZMQ) – WZMQ’s Operations Warm Up wrapped up today with Marquette Area Public School District staff picking up the donated winter clothes from Goodwill.
The campaign aimed to help provide jackets and other winter items to kids in MAPS district who didn’t have any of their own.
Goodwill Donated Goods Regional Manager Wes Snedden said they were all happy to be involved, and helping the community is part of Goodwill’s mission.
“We live in the UP, there is harsh weather up here,” said Snedden. “It’s very cold, and we do have a lot of individuals in need out there, and part of Goodwill’s mission is supporting those in need.”
From here MAPS district will distribute the winter items to students who need them.
Goodwill says they hope to be able to expand the campaign to reach more school systems in future years.
