Welcome back to What’s UP with Megan after what I hope was a relaxing New Year. For many of us, the new year serves as a time to set new resolutions, self-reflection, and self-improvement.
Maybe you are struggling with the yearly tradition of coming up with a few of your own? If so, then I have the perfect resolution for you. While incredibly simple, it can be very impactful. It is: do one nice thing a day.
Don’t know where to start? How about one of the most selfless things you can do – donate blood! January is National Blood Donor Month. Due to the holidays, bad weather, and cold and flu season, the winter months are often a time of reduced donations and increased blood shortages.
While more people can donate now than before due to the updated FDA guidelines allowing lgbtqia+ individuals to donate, the need in the Upper Peninsula is still outstanding.
To find the nearest blood drive, visit redcrossblood.org or visit your local blood center, such as the UP Regional Blood Center.
