MARQUETTE, Mich. (WZMQ) – This Marquette home away from home is bringing Christmas to its residents for the holiday season. The Steve Mariucci Family Beacon House year-round hosts patients and family members who travel to the UP to receive medical care and around the holidays is no different.
As surgeries and treatment don’t stop for the holidays, some of the patients have decided to stay. The staff at the house will be hosting a Christmas Eve Dinner and a Christmas Day Buffet, and say it couldn’t be done without an amazing team.
“You know you never plan for an emergency and you don’t plan for crisis and that does happen in December too I’m always so in awe and impressed with my team who says ‘no no I’ll work Christmas Day’ or ‘Oh gosh I’m there Christmas Eve, absolutely I’ll come in and help with the meal’,” commented CEO of the Steve Mariucci Family Beacon House Mary Tavernini-Dowling.
