MARQUETTE, Mich, (WZMQ) – Michigan State University Extension is an outreach program that uses MSU’s resources and expertise to improve Michigan communities.
Recently it has been conducting listening sessions all over Michigan to gather opinions of community members about how to improve their programs.
Today it had a session in Marquette.
Attendees talked about topics including community health and wellness, natural resources, business sustainability, and adolescent outreach in the UP.
MSU Extensions District Director Erin Daines, says it’s important to get input from all over Michigan.
“It’s really important that they hear from us we aren’t the same as everywhere else,” said Daines. “All of our communities across the state are different anyway, so it was really strategic about the different areas and here in the UP we also want to make sure that we have our opinions, we want to make sure that Lansing is listening to us.”
MSU Extension is headed back down state tomorrow for more listening sessions later this week.
